My Story

Behind the Words

Stories are in my veins. Not a day goes by where I don't have the itch to share a new idea with the world. Nor does a day pass where I don't reach for my pen and start scribbling. As a determined and creative person, I always strive to nurture my literary voice and fine-tune my style as I write my way through life.

Writing has been an integral part of my being for as long as I can remember. From writing the diaries of Vikings in Primary School to minoring in Creative Writing at University, writing has always been my dream career. As I undertake this journey, I hope to showcase here my publications, updates and portfolio and connect with writers and employers to explore the possibility of different projects!

Experience

Academic

In 2020, I completed my BA (Hons) English Literature with Creative Writing and gained a partial scholarship to undertake a Masters degree at my alma mater - Bangor University.

My MA English Literature was completed in November 2021, and I graduated with Distinction (First Class).

It is my ambition to continue pursuing academia alongside a writing career.

Writing

Throughout my career I've aimed to write across multiple different genres, expanding my awareness and skills. The genres I've written for have included:

Newspaper journalism for my student paper Y Seren; Interviewer and Event Reporter; Lead Editorialist for MuggleNet.com; Theatre critic including for The Stage; Poetry and Fiction, and most recently on Creative Writing as a craft.

Volunteering

Helping others has always been a fundamental part of my life, and a rewarding aspect of my career so far, too. In 2021 I worked as a shop assistant for the Friends of Bangor Garth Pier raising funds for the Victorian Pier's restoration. Prior to this I ran writing workshops for fellow students at Bangor University Writers' Guild, and volunteered as an assistant librarian in my hometown.
